Who You Talk To
When you reach out through Remainsvia Restoration, you end up talking with an independent local provider. That person works for their own company, not for us. They know the work, the local building styles and what it usually takes to dry out a home like yours.
What Happens First
Expect a few simple questions. The provider will want to know:
- What caused the water, and whether it has been stopped
- Which rooms or areas are wet
- How long the water has been there
- Whether the water was clean, from a storm or from a drain
- What type of floors and walls are affected
These answers help the provider judge the size of the job. Many providers can respond quickly, but availability differs, so ask what their schedule looks like.
What to Ask a Provider
Before you agree to anything, ask:
- Can I get the quote in writing, with the scope listed?
- What is included, and what could add to the price?
- How will you dry the structure, and how will you confirm it is dry?
- Will you test for hidden moisture or mold risk?
- Can you help document the damage for an insurance claim?
- What should I fix or change so this does not happen again?
A clear answer to each of these is a good sign. Vague answers are a reason to keep shopping.
Compare Before You Commit
The smallest number on a page is not always the fair one. Look at the scope, the equipment, the materials and the plan for drying. Two quotes can look far apart because they cover different amounts of work. Compare written quotes line by line.
You Are in Control
Contacting a provider does not commit you to hiring them. You can ask questions, get more than one quote and take time to decide. Nobody should pressure you to sign on the spot. If a provider does, move on.
